It’s that time again! There are a limited number of spectator tickets now available for the sixth-annual 2013 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N Filters and Royal Purple. This action-packed event takes place in Pahrump, Nevada, at a state-of-the-art racing facility. This event was sold out early last year.
Some of the industry favorites and some newer names from all over the world compete for the Optima Ultimate Street Car title. If interested in spectating, better act soon before the event is sold out! Tickets are $30 a person, which includes a free event t-shirt upon entrance. It’s definitely worth it!
"We’re looking forward to another exciting year of this growing event as we continue to layer on different challenges and elements for a new experience for fans and participants each year," said Cam Douglass, director of product development and marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. "Our spectators bring a great liveliness to the already high-energy event and we are pleased to be able to once again open this event up to a public audience."
Just last year, the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational brought in a massive crowd. Breaking record times and providing some thrilling moments, Mark Stielow was crowned with his custom ’67 Chevrolet Camaro as the 2012 Optima Ultimate Street Car.
The main event will take place at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch on November 9, 2013. If attending the SEMA show this year – the premier performance automotive aftermarket trade event in the world – this event follows immediately afterwards, so make sure you have that extra day or two to watch some of those pristine rides from the SEMA showroom floor battle it out on the road course. Not only will you see these cars sittin’ pretty, but you’ll get to see their performance potential as they are driven balls to the wall.
This happens to be one of the most highly-anticipated and widely-covered events of the year for drivers and enthusiasts alike. It will now be featured in its own TV show, Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car. Competing events will take place from road racing to autocross with the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge, Ridetech Street Challenge Autocross, Wilwood Disc Brakes Speed Stop Challenge, and Lingerfelter Performance Design Challenge. One day prior, the Detroit Speed and Engineering road rally will occur following the close of the SEMA show.
The Optima challenge is open to street-legal and licensed vehicles, and the qualifying events will be strategically located all over the country giving enthusiasts everywhere a chance to compete.
The winners of the Spirit of the Event Award of each of the qualifying events will be invited to the SEMA show in Vegas where they will compete against each other in many of the performance tasks while being judged on design and execution. Only one “Ultimate Street Car” can be crowned, the participating car with the best overall performance and design.
