Summit Racing's FFR Roadster Build Update
The third installment of the Summit Racing/Factory Five Mk4 Roadster build is now live at OnAllCylinders, Summit Racing’s blog.
The Summit Racing/Factory Five Mk4 Roadster is designed to show you how easy it is to put together a killer ride using a Factory Five kit and parts from Summit Racing’s vast inventory of parts and accessories.
The third article covers the buildup and installation of the drivetrain, a 427 cubic inch Ford 351W and a Ford Racing TKO-600 5-speed transmission. Summit Racing and Factory Five’s tech experts put together the components needed to duplicate this drivetrain in Parts Combos—a ‘recipe’ of parts proven to make plenty of power for the track in a car you can drive on the street.
The first installment of the series covered the installation of the front suspension, brakes, and steering. The second highlighted the installation of the three-link rear suspension, 8.8 inch Ford rear axle, and Wilwood disc brakes.
Future articles will focus on body prep and final chassis tuning. Check back with OnAllCylinders for the latest updates!
