Happy Birthday Mustang!

Yesterday was the Mustang's 47th birthday. What did you do to celebrate? Check out our blog to hear what we did.

So April 17th was coming up fast on the calendar and I'm thinking it would be nice to take the '66 out for a Sunday drive, get some ice cream with the wife and enjoy a relaxing afternoon behind the wheel. Trouble is, the '66 is in short-term storage at the Source Interlink Media tech shop while our Generation Gap '68 Mustang fastback is at home in the garage where my pal Alan and I can work on rubbing out the paint.

Then the lightbulb went off. I have this spanking new '66 Mustang coupe R/C body from HPI Racing sitting on the shelf for almost a month now and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but now I knew exactly what I wanted to do. So, come Sunday morning I grabbed my R/C body tools and proceeded to trim the body up, mask it, and paint it up to match my real '66 Mustang. I figured if I can't drive my '66 Mustang on Sunday I could at least drive it's 1/10th scale clone up and down the street. So now as long as the '66 is in storage I can grab my mini-'66 off the shelf and put a few miles on it. Then later, when the '66 is back home I'll have a cool scale version to drive around at shows/cruises that I take the '66 to. Cool right?

Anyway, I brought the car into work today to take a picture of it with its big brother, but the shop is full of non-running cars that have to be pushed around for access, so all I could take was the picture shown here. Hopefully I can get some better photos with both cars out in the sun soon.
