Energizer Releases Universal USB Car Chargers

Energizer, famous for battery products that you use every day, now has a nifty USB charging device for car or home. Check out the blog to learn more.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the annual Pepcom MobileFocus media event, where new mobile products are announced to the working media. I found several trick gadgets that could easily be used in our classic Fords or daily drivers and wanted to report on them here in our blogs. First up is the new Energizer universal USB chargers. Offered in both AC and DC models (for home or car use respectively) they're the perfect answer to keeping your iPod, cell phone, or GPS charged up in your car, especially if you don't have a power port style charging cord for the device (like most iPods).

The Energizer DC Universal USB Car Charger is available in a single and double USB port configuration (MSRP: $14.99 for single; $24.99 for double) and we grabbed one of the slightly smaller single port models for our '66 Mustang. As you can see by the photo I took it is very low-key and doesn't really stand out, so you know it won't get it in the way. Now when I have my iPod plugged in for some music I can also charge it as well!

The Energizer AC USB charger for home use carries the same MSRP for the two styles.

You can:
• Charges most USB-powered gadgets (5W of power or less)
• Dual USB model allows for charging two devices at once
• Ideal for charging smartphones, MP3 players and digital cameras
• Quickly and simply converts your car/truck DC outlet into a USB charging station

Pretty cool huh? You should be able to find these in retail stores soon.

Stay tuned for future blogs on goodies we found at MobileFocus coming soon.
