Who said "the best laid plans" line? Well, we had some pretty good plans, but even with yours truly sanding away on the project car (I know, scary thought isn't it), as we got down to the wire we still had several modifications we wanted to do not completed (and they couldn't be done after paint). We thought perhaps of painting just the outside of the car and not anything else, just to have color on it, but then we'd most certainly get over spray on it when we would go back and paint the engine compartment, trunk, etc. later.
No, we finally decided to finish ALL of the body mods now and block sand the car so that it could be put into the DP50LF gray epoxy primer/sealer. That's what you see here in the picture we took at Silver Springs on Sat with the fastback project on display next to our subscription tent. So the car is about a week away from color at this point, and while it would have been great to display it painted, we were able to finish our modified cowl, shave off the drip rails, and more, all things we couldn't do if it had final paint on it.
So, a big thanks to Classic Creations of Central Florida (www.flclassics.com) for their hard work and loads of time on our project just to get it to this point and another round of thanks to all of the show spectators that dropped by to tell us they've been following the project and were happy to see it in person. Don't worry, as soon as it gets painted you'll see a blog about it right here.
