When Summit Racing Equipment commemorated its 25th anniversary back in 1993, company officials wanted to celebrate with the people that made the business a success—its customers. The company threw a huge party at its Tallmadge, Ohio headquarters, complete with car show, manufacturer’s midway, special guests, in-store specials, and more. Summit Racing’s popular Super Summit car show was born.
Seventeen years later Super Summit is now a summer tradition for hot rod enthusiasts from across Ohio and surrounding states. The 2010 version of the show took place on June 12 and drew over 650 street rods, custom and restored street machines, classic and late-model musclecars, trucks, and tuners. The cruise-in attracted thousands of spectators and featured the Summit Racing/BIGFOOT monster truck, Art Arfons’ Green Monster #5, the Greg Anderson NHRA Pro Stock Pontiac GXP replica, the Orange County Choppers/Summit Racing motorcycle, Summit Racing’s “QuadraDeuce” 1932 Ford Roadster, and Summit Racing’s “QuikStang” 1,000-horsepower Mustang.
Other Super Summit 2010 attractions included a Manufacturers Midway with many of the top high performance parts manufacturers available to talk one-on-one with customers. In addition, Summit Racing Equipment offered Super Summit show discounts inside its Retail Super Store on June 12-13, and extended special offers and rebates from select manufacturers the day of the show.
