Surf City Garage's New Line of Detailing Products Delivers

We blogged about the new product line release from Surf City Garage several weeks ago right here on our web site, and while we promised to try them right away it took us a few weeks to get the chance due to the almost daily rain showers here in Florida. On what we thought was going to be a clear day for a cruise in our '66 Mustang ended up getting our coupe filthy through an afternoon storm on the way back to the house. By the time we pulled into the driveway the rain had stopped but the damage was done. Road spray on the rockers, dirty wheels, and spotted chrome. We broke out our new Surf City Garage products and to say the least, we were quite impressed.
One of our favorite items in our kit quickly became the SCG Hot Rod detailer. This product not just works on paint as a quick detailer, but also has UV protecting properties to keep your paint looking its best. We've tried several other detailer type products over the years with various results but none of them worked on the immense amount of chrome and stainless a classic Mustang has like the Hot Rod detailer. It made our chrome brilliant and it easily buffed out with a microfiber towel to a mirror finish!
When it comes to the Mustang's Styled steel wheels it can be difficult to find a wheel cleaner that works. You have a chrome steel wheel with painted surfaces, a plastic insert in the center cap, and a stainless steel trim ring. These surfaces usually take different products, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that SCG's Beyond Steel wheel cleaner tackled all the surfaces with just one product and didn't leave any smudges or smears on the stainless trim rings.
