Kevin Tetz Has Been Busy With Project LPGT

The Mustang coupe has been the recent recipient of wheel tubs, firewall smoothing, custom front fascia work, and more. Check out today's blog for some photo updates and a few notes from Kevin.

Kevin's Mustang build has been slowly gaining momentum since our story first appeared in the May 2010 print issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords. Besides Kevin's main gig as co-host of Spike TV's Powerblock show Trucks! Kevin also owns Paintucation, a line of instructional paint and body DVDs. This, as well as speaking engagements, event travel, and some resemblance of a family life mean the Mustang is a spare-time project.

Thankfully Kevin's had a bit of spare time recently and has been pushing hard on his Mustang to get it done for the fall in the hopes of getting a bit of seat time before the weather turns bad and possibly having the radical coupe find its way to the 2010 SEMA show in November. If it does find a booth to call home we'll let you know where to find it, and of course look for a full feature on the car when it's buttoned up later this year. Right now our two projects (his coupe and our fastback) are about in the same state, so whomever finishes first is still anyone's guess. But if we don't get ours into the paint booth soon I think Kevin will have the advantage real soon! Check out the following photos and stay tuned for more.

Mini Tubs Fitted

Kevin has plans for some serious rubber to try and control the boosted modular engine up front, and as such, worked some metal magic on a pair of custom wheel tubs out back, including a reprofiling of the rear frame rails. Sweet work!

Wireform Front Fascia Support

For the custom front fascia, which is based off of a Mustang Depot E2 body kit, Kevin used some coat hangers to make a wire frame to build off of to give his car a one of a kind look to it.

Hydroboost Brake System Mounted

Not only did Kevin smooth the firewall out (something we still have to do on our '68), but he's already got the hydroboost assist unit and master cylinder mocked up, something else he's beaten us to the punch on. Hey Kevin, slow down will ya!
