Practicing the Golden Rule has earned the Early Mustang Club of Colorado the coveted Eagle One Golden Rule Award and grand prize for conducting the most outstanding community service program in its region during 2009.
The grand prize was a $1,500 cash donation from Eagle One and associate sponsor Valvoline to a charity selected by the club. The honor was earned for the most compassionate achievement among the four winning car clubs.
Other clubs honored with the coveted award for providing exemplary support to community and charitable causes were:
Central Nebraska Car Club, Kearny, NE
Lancaster County Corvette Club, Lancaster, PA
Downshifters of Brooklyn, Palmetto, FL
The three other winners received $500 cash donations to favorite charities, a generous supply of Eagle One car-care products and Valvoline motor oil for fund-raising purposes, and a custom- designed plaque.
The Denver club went national with its service program donating $25,000 to the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to children of servicemen who were killed or permanently disabled while serving our country. The Denver club donated the $1,500 to the Fund.
"For the past 17 years Eagle One has been proud to reward car clubs for the commendable work they do in their communities while actively engaged in the preservation of one of our country's greatest heritages, the automobile," said Rob McCarter, Eagle One brand manager.
