412HP 2011 Mustang 5.0L Modular Offered by Ford Racing

The latest Mustang engine is already slated for the next Ford Racing catalog, check out our blog for more on this.

That's right, not only did Ford bring back the "5-point-0" for the sophomore year of the redesigned S197 Mustang, but the guys that eat, sleep, and live horsepower over at Ford Racing have just confirmed to us that this beauty will soon be available in their catalog. Already given a part number (M-6007-M5L), the complete crate engine is expected to retail for $6,999 but should be able to be found for a bit less through regular Ford Racing dealers. If you dig the production "picture frame" intake cover and coil pack covers you'll have to get those separately.

Just like their current 4.6L "Hotrod" three-valve crate offering, a Control Pack wiring kit will be offered to hook the whole thing up in your classic Mustang, Ford, street rod, or kit car. Expect the wiring kit to retail for roughly the same price as the current three-valve Control Pack, which is $1,500. This includes a recalibrated PCM, cold air induction, wiring, power distribution box, and drive-by-wire gas pedal.

Finally, because the production 2011 Mustang uses electric power steering, Ford Racing will be offering a CNC machined power steering bracket and production power steering pump as an upgrade kit. Expect that to ring the register for another $500, maybe less.

We're already dreaming of a '69 Boss 302 clone/replica with a 32-valve 5.0L and six-speed trans!
