The Annual Great American Teach In

Spending a little time with our youth is rewarding, check out our blog to read more.

Every year schools around the country participate in the Great American Teach In by having parents and family members interact with the students via the products and machines they use in their day to day jobs. From helicoptors and police motorcycles to race cars and farm implements, the kids get to hear all about the "toys" and how important it is to stay in school and get an education.

Great American Teach In 2009

This year we were invited through a coworker to a local middle school. We brought our Factory Five Roadster for display and joined a Shelby GT500 Super Snake, a Ford GT Supercar, and a S197 Mustang drag car (with LOTS of nitrous!).

The kids loved the cars, asked a LOT of questions (how fast, where's the roof, what's the chrome thing behind your head), etc. and we all had a great time. Of course getting to start the car and revving it up for them put smiles even on the teachers faces. If you have kids in school (or grandkids) don't hesitate to step up next year and offer your time. I'll be doing it again, that's for sure!
