The new CTL axle shafts feature extra-long splines and they can easily be cut to the desired length with a chop saw.  This allows Nitro to use stronger rolled splines rather than cut splines and allows fewer part numbers to cover a wide range of OE and custom applications.  This also makes it easier for restoration and Rod Shops to stock axles since they fit so many applications.  For Ford eight and nine inch axles the 31-spline heavy duty cut to length axle shafts can be trimmed to desired lengths from 23 to 32-7/8. Made with 1541H Forged alloy with extra deep heat treating the axles are 20-30% stronger than stock axles.
