KICKER Performance Audio “Pays It Forward” with Mustang Club of America

KICKER Performance Audio is proud to announce its involvement in a very special project with the Mustang Club of America. In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang and Drake Automotive Group's 30th anniversary, DAG owner Scott Drake and the MCA are giving one MCA club a chance to Pay It Forward with the ultimate Mustang makeover. The group made the announcement during a press conference at the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration recently in Birmingham, Ala.
“It is an honor to be involved with Scott Drake and his company on the Pay It Forward project,” said KICKER Global Marketing Director Kevin Campbell. Campbell acknowledged that KICKER will donate around $1,500 worth of high-performance audio gear to the project, which will include subwoofers, an amplifier, and component speaker systems.
The lucky MCA club, Mustangs of East Texas, will start with a '66 Ford Mustang convertible project car and $10,000 in parts donated by Drake Automotive Group (www.drakeautomotivegroup.org). The club will finish with a completely restored Mustang that will be displayed in the DAG booth during the 2009 SEMA Show this November and later sold at auction. Proceeds from the sale of the car will benefit the charity selected by the winning MCA club, giving them an opportunity to “pay it forward.”
“It’s a great opportunity to work on a charitable project with the members of the East Texas Mustang Club, and we’re looking forward to their transformation of what was once a junkyard pony into a very cool, classic Mustang with KICKER Livin’ Loud as it rolls down the road,” Campbell also said.
Many clubs from across the country submitted applications for the contest. Mustangs of East Texas (www.mustangsofeasttexas.com) stood out from the rest by providing a hardbound book with a full timeline and delegated plan of the restoration. The club knows who will be responsible for every part of the car.
Quantum Performance will donate an engine of the club's choice to the project, and Performance Automatic will provide a C4 automatic transmission.
