ROUSH Named “Official Motor Oil” Of Hooked On Driving

Now you can not only learn better car handling and driving skills, but you can meet up with the ROUSH folks at key driving events. Check our blog for more details and a list of dates.

Hooked on Driving is one of the premier high-performance driving schools in the country and has had a long relationship with ROUSH® Performance as they promote car control over racing. This association took another step as ROUSH Motor Oil was named the “Official Oil of Hooked on Driving.”

Hooked on Driving has schools across the country and puts drivers of street cars from all manufacturers on a closed road course with a coach in the passenger seat to help guide them through the fundamentals of performance driving in a no-pressure atmosphere. The event groups drivers by experience and skill level and offers teaching sessions after each session on the racetrack. Session times will be broken down by experience levels so beginners don’t have to worry about making a mistake or getting in the way of those with more track time. The Hooked on Driving Program truly caters to drivers of all levels and can help anyone gain confidence and skills behind the wheel.

“Hooked on Driving has the same philosophy that we do at ROUSH about learning to drive a high-performance vehicle, and this is a big reason why this partnership has been so successful for the past several years. Simply put, we want people to learn about their cars and really get a feel for the speed and handling characteristics in a controlled, safe environment with an instructor. We don’t want people pushing the limits on the street or highways for obvious reasons,” said Joe Thompson, vice-president and general manager of ROUSH Performance.

“I am very pleased that we are able to deepen our relationship with ROUSH and name them as the ‘Official Oil’ of our driving school,” stated David Ray, founder of Hooked on Driving. “The ROUSH Days at the schools are a big hit, and I know that their oil will be well received by our participants. These are people that love high-performance cars and doing the necessary maintenance to keep them running at their peak. The ROUSH Motor Oil helps accomplish that.” As part of the agreement, a case of ROUSH Motor Oil will be raffled off at each of the Hooked on Driving schools this year.

Inspired by the racetrack and formulated for the road, ROUSH Motor Oil provides protection for both newer and older performance engines.

“The technicians at Valvoline have helped me to create ROUSH Motor Oil, which I believe is the most advanced lubricant on the market today, and will become the motor oil of choice for those who claim that ‘good’ isn’t good enough for their car,” said Jack Roush.

Available in five synthetic blends (5W-20: (API SM), 5W-30: (API SM), 5W-50: (API SM), 10W-30: (API SL) and 10W-40: (API *** for all new high-performance or classic flat-tappet engines all have a high zinc content. A straight 40W Break-In Oil is also available for dyno and racing applications. For more information, visit www.ROUSHoil.com.

There will be four “ROUSH Days” at Hooked on Driving programs this year. At each event, participants can meet ROUSH company representatives and talk about the cars, parts and racing, see a variety of ROUSH automobiles, and most importantly – have fun and learn how to drive at the limit with fellow enthusiasts.

The four ROUSH Hooked on Driving events this year are:
June 18 – Autobahn Country Club (Joliet, Ill.)
June 19 – Pocono Raceway (Pocono, Penn.)
June 26 – Thunderhill Raceway (Willows, Calif.)
August 30 – Sebring International Raceway (Sebring, Fla.)
