Diamond is releasing a new series of domed pistons designed for Ford Windsor engines. These pistons are intended for oval track, Sportsman, Weekend Warrior and Bracket racers.
The slugs are for any Windsor application using fuel with an octane rating of 108 for a compression ratio of between 11.5:1 and 14.8:1. For the 302 engine the Diamond Dome series caters to the OEM standard bore (4 inch), and extends to .060-inch overbore. In stroke lengths standard configuration and the longer strokes are accommodated providing 331 and 347 displacements. For the 351 Windsor Diamond domes are available for the OEM standard 3.50-inch stroke and extend to 4.250-inch stroke lengths. Diamond also offers a big bore 4.125-inch piston for the latest Ford Racing blocks and Dart blocks. The forged pistons are made from 2618 alloy and have the top ring placed sufficiently far down from the piston crown to permit a hefty shot of nitrous. The pistons are supplied with H13 Tool Steel wrist pins, spiral locks, and a conventional ring stack. On the longer stroke models where the wrist pin bore intersects the oil control ring groove, oil control ring support rails are supplied.
