Kenny Brown to Make His First Major Public Appearance since 2005 at this weekend's Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration
We've always enjoyed hanging out with Kenny and his staff and he sure builds some stout late-model Mustangs, so it's good to see his health improving and getting out to Mustang events. If you're going to Birmingham be sure to stop in and say hello. Read the blog for more details on where and when.
Kenny Brown, noted Mustang engineer, driver and car builder, is making his first major public appearance at the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama April 16-19, 2009 after a three year medical hiatus. Kenny will be at the Speedworks trailer in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge paddock. Kenny has been contracted by Speedworks to be their Team Engineer and Driver Coach for the 2009 season of the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge.
Brown, renowned for his top of the line Mustangs, track cars, performance parts and motorsports services was forced to close shop three years ago due to life-threatening medical issues and was not expected to survive. After many doctors, hospitalizations, rehabilation and many prayers from the Mustang faithful Brown is back, gaining strength with greatly improved health.
Due to the hundreds of Kenny Brown supporters emailing well wishes and demanding Kenny Brown products, the decision was made to bring Kenny’s unique brand of performance, cars and parts back to the market. “We have had so much support from Mustang enthusiasts and dedicated Mustang clubs like the SVT Cobra Mustang Club, SVTOA, MCA and the Northwood’s Shelby Club, it’s been pleasantly overwhelming at times,” says, wife and business partner, Cari Southworth. “Initially we are taking a measured “part throttle” approach as not to overwhelm Kenny and jeopardize his health,” she continued, “So we are bringing back the historic best selling Kenny Brown SN-95 and Fox parts, along with some new S-197 Mustang parts at a measured pace”.
Kenny decided if he is going to get back in the Mustang market, he is going to focus mainly on what drives him and what he is passionate about – motorsports, designing and engineering new products and building superior performance street and track cars. “I decided life is too short not to fulfill your dreams, and I still have some kick-ass cars and parts swirling around in my head that I need to build” said Brown.
The Mustang 45th Anniversary is hoped to be the first of many more events to come for Kenny Brown.
