This intake system replaces the Shelby’s original intake assembly with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a large cone-shaped K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and filtering capacity and never needs to be replaced. Protecting the chrome top air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder coated steel heat shield that replaces the stock air box. As it passes the filter, air travels through a new larger diameter molded inlet tube that changes shape from round at the filter inlet to oval at the throttle body. The new intake tube shape and design allows for a more laminar airflow to the Shelby’s 5.4L V8 engine, resulting in 53 more horsepower. The kit is easy to install and has an MSRP of $449.00.
