Bosch Launches ‘Drift Into A Mustang’ Sweepstakes And ‘Create Your Own Performance Art’ Contest
We'd love to learn to drift from the "man" himself, Vaughn Gittin, Jr., but possibly winning our own 2010 Mustang sure sounds appealing too. Check out the blog for all the details and if you win we'd be willing to carry your luggage to tag along!
Last September, Bosch brought drifting to the streets of Los Angeles with its Performance Art event. Now, Bosch kicks it up a notch by awarding one lucky random winner with a hot new 2010 Mustang GT as the Grand Prize in the ‘Drift Into A Mustang’ Sweepstakes. A promotional video featuring world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr. is posted on www.boschperformanceart.com along with a link to the contest entry page. The sweepstakes runs from March 17 to June 30, 2009, and is open to residents of the U.S. and District of Columbia who hold a valid U.S drivers license and are at least 18 years of age at time of entry. For complete rules visit www.boschdriftintoamustang.com/rules.php.
No purchase is necessary to win. Entrants can tell a friend about the sweeps and will receive an entry confirmation e-mail that includes a special offer on the purchase of Bosch Spark Plugs.
The complete list of sweepstakes prizes includes: Grand Prize • 2010 Ford Mustang GT with Ford Racing Performance Package • Bosch Canvas Performance Art Poster autographed by Vaughn Gittin, Jr. • Bosch leather jacket and Bosch rolling duffel • Set of Bosch Spark Plugs (up to 8) and pair of Bosch Wiper Blades First Prize • One day with Vaughn Gittin, Jr. learning how to drift • Bosch Canvas Performance Art Poster autographed by Vaughn Gittin, Jr. • Bosch leather jacket and Bosch rolling duffel • Set of Bosch Spark Plugs (up to 8) and pair of Bosch Wiper Blades Second Prize (one awarded per week, total of 15) • Set of Bosch Spark Plugs (up to 8) and a Bosch cap
In addition to the sweepstakes promotional video on the Performance Art micro site, the sweepstakes will be supported by extensive advertising in print and digital media.
Launching on March 19 and running through June 30, 2009, the Bosch ‘Create Your Own Performance Art’ Contest features an online drifting game. Players pilot a replica of Vaughn Gittin, Jr.’s Bosch-powered Ford Mustang to create their own Performance Art and post it to the online gallery. Each month, Vaughn will select one winner from among the entries to receive an autographed canvas of his Performance Art and a Bosch cap. Plus, the first 900 eligible entrants will receive a Bosch Performance Art poster. A link to the game and official rules can be found on the Bosch micro site, www.boschperformanceart.com.
‘Drifting’ Demonstrates Component Strength “The exciting ‘Drift Into a Mustang’ Sweepstakes and our partnership with Vaughn Gittin, Jr. help underscore the superior performance and reliability of Bosch parts for all vehicle makes and models in all kinds of driving conditions,” said Pam Krebs, Bosch’s Director of Advertising and Sales Promotion. “Vaughn’s Ford Mustang runs Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion™ multi-electrode spark plugs, Bosch performance fuel injectors and the Bosch ALRACE1 lightweight motorsports alternator.” “Drifting cars take a real pounding, and engines are subject to incredible stress while they often run at extremely high RPM. Accelerating and decelerating are constant, and the spark plugs and fuel injectors not only need to perform under this intense pressure, they must hold up and continue to deliver. Bosch spark plugs and fuel injectors are engineered to give the driver clean, efficient performance in even the most severe driving conditions,” she said. In addition to being a two-time D1 Grand Prix World Champion, Gittin is an accomplished artist. His “Abstract on Asphalt”, created on a downtown Los Angeles intersection last September, is part of a campaign for Bosch Spark Plugs. The Performance Art campaign, which includes consumer promotions, a “Making of Performance Art” video and the full-length “Performance Art” video, plus other drifting-related content, is showcased at the Bosch micro site www.boschperformanceart.com.
Bosch views participation and association with a champion such as Vaughn Gittin, Jr. as “the next step in motorsports, especially with younger motorists and enthusiasts who seek the best components for their motorsports vehicles as well as their everyday cars.
