Editor Houlahan is in Arizona covering the sheetmetal repairs and fastback conversion of our '68 project. Check out the Day 1 notes in his blog below.

Arriving in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after midnight after a three hour drive down from Las Vegas, I realized I had to be at Drake Customs in less than six hours. I grabbed some sleep and met up with the guys at Drake for a 14 hour day in the shop starting on our project.

Day 1 included total dissasembly of our coupe body, including bolt on metal, glass, suspension, and more. Once we were down to a bare shell it was installed on their jig and removal of rusty metal began. By late afternoon most of the bad metal was gone (some had to stay for structural purposes) and we had our new Dynacorn one piece floor set in place and a few other key components.

It's been a long day, but these guys at Drake are hard workers and I have no doubt we'll have a nice fastback ready to roll by Friday.

Check back every day this week for updates on our project!
