What Did You Get For Christmas?

Tools Always Make A Great Gift

Christmas or not, it's always a great time when you get some new tools. Check out Editor Houlahan's blog about what was under his tree this year!

After 16 years of marriage, and having two teenagers, Christmas time can be a bit frustrating. What do you get the Mrs. when she has (in your mind) enough jewelery to start her own store? It's also not easy when you listen to metal and album rock and she's a country girl at heart. Except for Toby Keith (cause he likes Ford trucks) I know nothing about country music. And finally there's the kids. At 15 and 13 there's no more shopping at Toys-R-Us anymore. No, it's iPods, cell phones, expensive clothes, and of course cold; hard cash.

Luckily, as a knuckle dragging Neanderthal, a quick stroll through the local Sears Craftsman tool department and my family can wrap up my Christmas shopping before lunch! So come Christmas day, as I unwrapped my heavy gifts (somewhat of a giveaway) I was not surprised to find a few new Craftsman goodies under our Frasier Fir. As I said earlier, I'm a bit of a Neanderthal, so I'm known for breaking and burning up every drill bit in my toolbox. The lovely Mrs. Houlahan purchased the killer Speed-Lok bit and accessory kit you see in the above photo. She also picked up one of Craftsman's 12-volt lithium-ion drill drivers to replace my old one that has a bent chuck (and no one will own up to it) and two dead batteries that won't charge anymore.

While not tool related I also got a few DVDs (we're big movie watchers with a collection nearing 300 titles), some Ford oval print sleeping pants (fancy PJs), some cologne, and a stocking full of candy and trinkets.

So tell me, what goodies did you find under your tree this year? Feel free to post a response below and share with us all!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas with their families and here's wishing all of you a safe and healthy 2009!
