A two week trip through India in 10 classic Mustangs--sounds interesting to us too. Read the blog for more info and where you can read up on their daily exploits.
George Huisman is a good friend of ours and a diehard Ford guy. Being involved with Ford with concept vehicles, SEMA projects, and part production for Ford's accessory catalogs for many years now has offered him the oppurtinties to do some great build ups, including the Flashback Mustang that's on the cover of our current issue.
Another Mustang project George's company, Classic Design Concepts (CDC), is involved in is the Tjaarda Tom 1 EQUUS EQ500 Mustang. If the name Tom Tjaarda sounds familiar it's because you must like Panteras. Mr. Tjaarda is responsible for the Pantera's lines you see as an automotive designer.
Mr. Tjaarda designed the EQ500 in Italy, and CDC will oversee parts development and engineering here stateside. The EQ500 was at the 2009 SEMA show and we have had it photographed for the magazine, which you'll soon see as well.
In the mean time we thought you'd like to hear about the Road of Maharajahs. Mr. Huisman, Mr. Tjaarda, and over a dozen other journalists, dignitaries, and automotive designers (inlcuding Camilo Pardo, who penned the Ford GT supercar) will be spending the next two weeks crossing over 2,000 kilometers of roads in India, from Bombay to Jodhpur, filming the entire trip for a documentary on India to be released this summer.
