Pertronix has been a leading supplier for over 40 years in the electronic ignition business serving the automotive performance, industrial, agricultural and marine markets. PerTronix’s exhaust division began in 2000 after acquiring Ermie Immerso Enterprises (Thunderbird Products). The Patriot brand was added in 2001 to cover the company’s growing line of Street Rod and Muscle Car exhaust products. The company continues to manufacturer air cooled VW exhaust under the Thunderbird brand. The original Doug’s Headers, a 51 year old header manufacturer, was added to the company’s exhaust division in January 2005. Long thought of as a premiere header line, Doug’s Headers has become an excellent addition to the company’s brands and product offerings with a wide selection of muscle car headers and C.A.R.B. approved applications for the truck, SUV and motorhome markets.
JBA has been a cutting edge exhaust development and manufacturing company for over 22 years, leading the industry in header and exhaust products designs for late-model emissions controlled vehicles. Their famous Cat4ward® Headers with the patented JBA Firecone® merged collectors have set the standard for late model exhaust performance improvements by greatly improving the engine’s volumetric efficiency. J. Bittle, commented, “I am excited about the acquisition because Pertronix’s significant resources support will help further grow the every increasing demand for JBA headers and exhaust systems. My commitment for JBA to maintain exhaust inventory leadership and a first to market innovation strategy will only improve through this relationship.”
Pertronix plans a robust advertising and marketing effort to leverage demand for the JBA line through their existing performance parts distribution system. An investment increase in finished goods inventory, product development and an integration of both company’s manufacturing techniques and facilities along with a teaming of the people “assets” will improve order fill rates and guarantee a rapid flow of new products.
