The 108 pound block uses two extra head bolts or studs per cylinder to provide additional clamping force. An engine based on this block can withstand very high combustion pressures such as those encountered when using power-adders. Other important features include priority main oiling, 1/2” oil passages and splayed billet four-bolt main caps. The aluminum Man O’War block is available in either 8.2”or 9.5” deck heights, and can be ordered with 3.990” or 4.115” bores and a choice of 2.248” or 2.749” mains. We found the 8.2 deck version as part number 870510 for $4369.95. Finish machined to a 0.030 bore oversize the cost was $4875.39. They are available in standard and fully race-prepped forms.
