On the computer we have hundreds of outtake photos that we’re always combing through for an image of this or that. Many of them seem like they would be of interest to any Ford fan, and the 1968½ Cobra Jet Mustang image that surfaced a few days ago is a perfect example.
Whether your interest is restoring Ford cars to perfectly original status or building them as customs from the ground up you can learn something about craftsmanship by studying these two cars. Both were done recently by Autoworks International of El Cajon, California. The first is the Jet Black Obsidian Mustang, which has twin superchargers and was featured prominently at the 2006 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The second is the very red Phantom, which was constructed from the ground up using a Dynacorn Replacement Body Shell as the basis the car. While not as flamboyant as the Obsidian Mustang this car still bristles with innovative hardware including RRS suspension and Retro Tek EFI. It was featured at the Dynacorn booth for the 2007 SEMA extravaganza. Talk over your next project with Autoworks at (619) 401-6900 www.autoworksracing.com
