MONROE, MI, April 21, 2008 – DynoMax Performance Exhaust has announced that Summit Racing Equipment will offer a valuable contingency program – including Summit Racing Gift Cards – through the hugely popular DynoMax Power to the Wheels Dyno Tour. DynoMax also plans to add three more qualifying tour stops to its schedule to include the three retail Summit Racing locations.
The DynoMax “Power to the Wheels” Dyno Tour, sponsored and managed by DynoMax, was created in 2007 to test the horsepower and torque of muscle cars outfitted with DynoMax or Thrush exhaust systems. DynoMax now offers two classes of competition: Power Adder and All Motor.
“Not only are we excited to enter our second year of competition, we’re very excited to welcome Summit Racing Equipment to the program,” said DynoMax Brand Manager Beth Mooney. “This event series has been well received by enthusiasts and industry partners like Summit Racing. It’s truly a testament to the entire automotive performance industry and to the value of a program like Power to the Wheels.”
Summit Racing Equipment will award $25 Summit Racing Gift Cards to daily event winners in both classes at qualifying tour stops. To qualify for the contingency, vehicles must display two Summit Racing Equipment contingency decals, which are available at every event in the DynoMax trailer or in Summit Racing Retail Stores. Summit Racing Equipment also will award all Championship Shootout qualifiers with a $100 Summit Racing Gift Card.
“We’re excited to step up our involvement with the DynoMax ‘Power to the
Wheels’ Tour with this contingency program,” said Nan Gelhard, Summit Racing Equipment Advertising Manager. “We had many customers participate in the ‘Power to the Wheels’ tour last year, including Brian Anderson, who was the 2007 national champion.”
The 2008 DynoMax Power to the Wheels Dyno Tour schedule also will include three additional event days:
• Summit Racing Equipment Event, McDonough, Ga., May 3-4
• Summit Racing Equipment Event, Sparks, Nev., Aug. 7-10
• Summit Racing Equipment Event, Tallmadge, Ohio, Aug. 30-31
DynoMax will award first- and second-place winners of each class at each of the events. The daily first- and second-place event winners will be entered into a national ranking for a chance to compete at the Championship Shootout at Street Machine Nationals, Springfield, Mo., in September. Daily first-place winners in both classes also earn a $50 cash prize from DynoMax.
To win, entrants must use a DynoMax or Thrush exhaust system and/or muffler at the time of the dyno run. DynoMax will award daily champions in two classes: the Power Adder class for those vehicles running superchargers, turbochargers or nitrous, and the All Motor class for those vehicles running without a power adder.
Competitors are required to make two back-to-back dyno runs. The winner is based on peak horsepower from the best of two runs for the daily contest. Entrants who do not have DynoMax products can still dyno but are not eligible for the competition and are subject to a dyno fee ($75).
