A case in point is our Red Fire Metallic ’05 Mustang GT shown here. The stock grill was recently replaced with an aftermarket piece that allowed the inboard placement of the driving lights giving an appearance similar to what was delivered on some but not all of the 1967 Shelby Mustangs. It’s a look we’ve always admired but on the modern GT we miss the central running horse emblem, which is eliminated with the close-together driving lamp arrangement. Of course the visual appeal of any upgrade is always a subjective matter and on a functional level in this case there is no difference between the two set ups. I guess the new look will take a little getting used to and sometimes the factory offering is so nice it can be difficult to decide on a change.
