Starting with the July 2008 issue, Mustang & Fords magazine will be merging with Modified Mustangs, a sister title here at Source Interlink, to bring our readers an exciting new book that encompasses everything Ford. The new magazine will be titled Modified Mustangs & Fords and we’re really excited to be able to bring the whole Ford family of performance vehicles together and give these owners one sharp magazine. The content will still be evenly divided, but instead of 50/50 classic Mustang/classic Ford, it will be a 50/50 of classic everything and late-model everything.
In the past, segregating owners by year or era meant that when we saw a really sharp Ford at a show that didn’t fit our “profile” we had to turn the owner’s down for feature photos and tech stories. We here at Mustang & Fords and Huw Evans of Modified Mustangs are all true Ford gear heads and love all manners of Ford products. Of course we dig the big-block, four-speed Fairlanes, high winding small-block classic Mustangs, Cougars, and more. But we’re also the same guys that love Fox body Mustangs, Thunderbird Super Coupes, Merkurs, SVT Cobra Mustangs, and Lightning pickup trucks.
The new magazine will be monthly in nature of course, but even better than the past issues of Mustang & Fords, the new magazine will be perfect bound (no more staples!), printed on bright white heavy paper and given a UV coated cover for a more upscale look. The physical book size is a bit bigger and every issue will be a minimum of 124 pages so you’ll be getting more great content too! Of course our web site will be revamped with content from all over the Ford universe and the blog and forum areas will get late-model topic sections as well.
For staff you’ll still have me, Mark Houlahan, as editor, and Wayne Cook as our technical editor. Jim Smart, who many of you know works on Mustang Monthly as well, will be transitioning over to Mustang Monthly 100-percent and Huw Evans of Modified Mustangs will be taking Jim’s place as our senior staff editor. All of us who put our best efforts into bringing you a top quality Ford (and Mustang) magazine every month are die-hard Blue Oval fans like you and we’re anxious to be able to have free reign to enjoy all of Ford’s best from the ‘60s to the present. We hope you’ll join us in our new journey with the July 2008 issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords, in your mailbox and on sale June 3rd.
