1967 T-5 fastback

Check out our '67 T-5. It's our latest Mustang & Fords test mule.

One of the newest additions to our pool of test mule cars is this 1967 T-5. A T-5 is a Mustang destined for delivery to what was West Germany at the time. A German company owned the rights to the name Mustang, and cars bound for Deutschland could not have this word appear anywhere on the car.

This T-5 is one of 154 2+2 T-5’s delivered that year. Built at the Metuchen plant in New Jersey, the metal broadcast tag under hood reads West Germany. The fastback spent a couple years overseas and was then returned to California, where it has been for the last 40 years. This explains the rust free condition of the vehicle.

The car was equipped with very few options. In addition to the C-code V-8, there is a four-speed transmission, fold down rear seat and an AM radio. The car as you see it has Vintage 45 wheels and Auto Loc head lamps. Look for this interesting car in upcoming additions of Mustang & Fords magazine.
