Year One's Track Day Mustang

Go Out and Play! Track Mustangs by YearOne, from roller to turn-key. Check 'em out!

Year One's Track Day Mustang

Body in White…a blank canvas…a clean slate. Nothing but a body to build on—no removal of the fluff you don’t need, no repairing damage done by time and others. There isn’t a better way to start a race car project. Unfortunately, you haven’t been able to get a new ’67 Fastback body in four decades, so building a vintage racer requires a fair amount of restoration first—until now. Thanks to YearOne, you can go straight to putting your race car together, without spending the time and money restoring to a good starting point. The reproduction ’67 Mustang fastback body is an ideal beginning for a street car, but it’s also tailor-made for your race project.

Now with YearOne’s “Track Car” package, you can get an even bigger head start on the competition. Delivered as a rolling chassis, the body has all the sheetmetal hung and fitted, mini tubs installed, and high performance race-inspired underpinnings in place. Griggs Racing’s suspension systems are used front and rear to make the car handle better than any ‘60s Mustang to date. Rear suspension consists of a 3-link locating arrangement with tubular control arms and torque arm, and a panhard rod or Watts link keeping it centered. Coil over shocks and Moser 31-spline 9-inch axle assembly finish it. The front suspension uses adjustable tubular control arms, ’96-up SN95 spindles, coil over shocks, stabilizer bar and rack & pinion steering. A Flaming River steering column topped by a Grant wheel points it. Top-of-the-line Baer Extreme Plus brakes are installed, and use 14-inch 2-piece front and rear rotors, 6-piston monoblock aluminum calipers and an adjustable proportioning valve.  Steel wheels with BFG Traction TA tires deliver the Mustang track-day chassis package to your door.

For a high-performance, track-oriented starting point, it doesn’t get much better. Finish the paint, bolt in a seat, add glass, gas and spark, a drivetrain and you’re making laps. For those who would rather just get in and go, YearOne will put together turn-key versions, or they’ll build something anywhere in between, outfitted according to your spec sheet.
