We take a sneak peak at some of the products found at the 2007 Performance Racing Industry trade show and wanted to share them with you here in our Blog section.
I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get this blog up tonight, but I actually got back to the room at a decent hour (those of you that have been to trade shows know what I mean!).
Anyway, I was able to hit roughly half the show today and I plan to wrap up my visit here tomorrow. Here’s a quick look at some of the great things I’ve seen so far. Mind you this is just a sample since I have to save some for publication in the magazine!
ACCEL/DFI Thruster EFI
This system is their new basic EFI entry for those wanting to build their own. Sensor kits and manifolds are available separately. Speaking of manifolds, we got wind that a new 351W intake is being worked on and will be ready soon. Look for full details on that in an upcoming issue of Mustang & Fords!
ACCEL 25 ohm Race Wire
The engineers at ACCEL are leveraging their new owners, Prestolite Wire, to come up with these new 25 ohm Race Wires. They are still in the prototype stage but if they do make them I’m sure the racing community will like them. Same goes for the battery cables in the background. The larger wire is copper clad aluminum strands, with the ability to carry the same amperage and voltage as the smaller yellow wire, but with much less weight.
Mallory Nitrous6
The problem with using nitrous is that when you hit the spray a lot of things need to be just right. With Mallory’s new Nitrous6 their ignition system ties into the nitrous solenoid wiring and when you hit the spray the ignition automatically transfers to the retarded nitrous timing you have set via the rotary switches on the side. Pretty cool!
Zeitronix Wideband Gauge
Looking for a tuning aid to help with your EFI or carb car? Then you might want to look into a wideband oxygen sensor kit for your ride. The wideband allows accurate measurements of the air/fuel ratio so that corrective tuning measures can be taken (remapping the fuel curve, changing jet size, etc.). Zeitronix makes it easy with this $199 kit that includes the sensor, control box, and gauge.
Floo Tek 5.0X Cylinder Head
I didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone here, but I did spy this new aluminum cylinder head for small-block Fords. Available in stud mount or pedestal mount setups, the heads have 180cc intake runners, 58cc combustion chambers, 1.94/1.54 valve package with performance springs, 5-angle valve job, and bronze guides. It all sounds good and we hope to learn more about these heads.
